Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is entering a multi-year transformation to align our classroom instruction with our goal for all students - Portrait of a Graduate. This transformation is called FCPSOn and will ensure that all students have access to an active and inspiring learning environment.
Technology will be an important component of this transformation - allowing teachers to personalize different learning activities for students.

Summer Reading Programs Summary
The schools in the Chantilly Pyramid with the support of the Chantilly Pyramid Literacy Team are excited to be working together to present the “Chantilly READS Challenge”! Our goal is to promote a love of reading and support independent reading at all grade levels in all schools in the Chantilly Pyramid. The reading challenge is open to all K-12 students and staff members. Students and staff will log their individual reading minutes using a Google form. Our goal is to read 5,000,000 minutes from March 2016 through February 2017.
All participants will be able to access and log their reading minutes ONLINE! The Chantilly READS Challenge link below can be used to enter and track reading minutes:

Please call the registrar to make a registration appointment. Registration packets can be picked up at the Oak Hill office any time after April 21st
Your child must be five years old on or before September 30, 2016 to be eligible to enroll in kindergarten.

Pre-Arranged Absence Request
For those families who are requesting prearranged absences for their children, FCPS now has a form for parents to complete before the absences occur. Please find the form at the link here:
http://www.fcps.edu/it/forms/se291.pdf . When plans are made, please fill out the form as soon as possible and return to your student’s teacher. One form is needed for each student. You still need to inform your teacher and the attendance line by email of the student’s absence.
All parents should make sure they have activated their SIS account so they can access information about your child's attendance, performance, and demographic information. Beginning August 2015 if you have a Parent View account in Blackboard you must use your SIS credentials to log into Parent View. More information...
