Please join us for the 6th Annual Cougar Kick-Off on Tuesday, August 30th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The Oakton Leadership SGA Program will be hosting this event as a celebration to start the new school year with school spirit! This event will be in conjunction with our Freshman/New Student Orientation, form collection and student schedule pick-up.
The Oakton staff and Oakton organizations will have a variety of items available at the event including club and organization membership information, spirit wear items, food and drinks, games and activities, performances and more!
Senior Parent Night
Oakton HS will be hosting two senior parents- one in the summer and another in the fall. Parents of Seniors are invited to choose ONE of our Senior Parent Nights. Information will be shared via Powerpoint and presentation on the process of sending transcripts and working with your counselor to meet application deadlines. No need to RSVP for this event. Students will be receiving this information in classroom counseling lessons.

Freshman and New Student Orientation
Freshmen and new students are invited to Oakton for orientation on Tuesday, August 30th, from 1:00-3:30 p.m. Freshmen will have the opportunity to follow their schedule and meet with their school counselor and all of their teachers. Buses will pick-up students at their feeder elementary schools. Locations and times were mailed home and will be included in e-Notify messages. If you did not receive this information, please contact Laura Gray in the School Counseling Office at 703-319-2800.
Students will have their own SIS accounts starting 9/1. At that time, both student and parent accounts will only have access to Course History and Course Schedules. Grade book access will be activated 9/19. Students will log in with their FCPS network credentials.
The third and final round of parking applications are now available. Rising juniors and seniors may pick up a parking application in the Gold Office or download it here. Submit completed parking application, with payment ($200), ONLY to Mrs. Manilli in the Gold Office beginning Tuesday, August 9 through Friday, August 19, 2016. Applications may be submitted between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM each day.
Oakton High School’s office will be open in the summer from 8 am – 2 pm each day.
The counseling office will send transcripts once a week over the summer. Please send requests via email to email@example.com by Friday of the week before the transcript is needed.
