Meet the PES 1st Grade Team

caye Mrs. Jamie Cayea, First Grade teacher, is starting her fifteenth year as a first grade teacher at Providence. Jamie was born and raised in Western New York. She received her Bachelor's degree from Plattsburgh State University of New York and received her Master's of Education from Graceland University. Outside of school, she loves hiking with her dog Rory, spending time with her husband and her two first graders Gordon and Madison and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.
dick Ms. Lesley Dick, First Grade teacher, is embarking on her 21st exhilarating year of teaching. She spent the first seven years of her career, teaching first grade in Pittsburgh, Pa where she grew up. Lesley received her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Messiah College, and received her Masters of Arts in Teaching from George Mason University. She spends her spare time tending to or enjoying her garden, dining out with friends, and most of all visiting her very adorable nieces, Madison and Morgan!
ferencz Mrs. Faith Ferencz, Instructional Assistant, is starting her 18th year in Fairfax County Public Schools. She works in Special Education and is trained in Applied Behavior Analysis methodology and Professional Crisis Management (PCM). She enjoys working with children with special needs, spending time with her friends and five grandchildren, reading and watching movies.
kherad Ms. Allieh Kheradmand is happily entering her fifth year here at Providence. She began as a sixth grade teacher and then joined the first grade team. She grew up in northern Virginia. Allieh completed her undergraduate studies at George Mason University. She then returned to Mason and earned her masters of education degree and a reading specialist license. Allieh delights in spending time with friends, family, and in the outdoors.
maida Ms. Pamela Maida is starting her eighth year teaching at Providence and first year in 1st grade. She received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education and her Bachelors Degree in Sociology from George Mason University. Born in Bolivia, Pamela grew up here in Fairfax County. In her free time she enjoys photography, music, reading, watching soccer/basketball games, and spending time with friends and family..
mallon Mrs. Cheryl Mallon, ESOL teacher, is excited to return to Providence for her 11th year. She received her degree in Elementary Education at Campbell University in North Carolina and an endorsement in ESOL in Virginia and North Carolina. She is currently studying to get her Master's Degree in Library Science at ODU. Cheryl enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters and her dog. She looks forward to working with her colleagues and students this year.
maloney Ms. Meghan Maloney is excited to be returning to Providence for her fifth year. She is originally from the same town that the show “The Office” is based on, Scranton, Pennsylvania. Meghan attended Kutztown University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. When she is not at school you can most likely find her taking classes at pure barre, coaching cheerleading at James Madison High School, or spending time with family and friends.
olexa Mrs. Beth Olexa, First Grade teacher, is starting her 22nd year teaching in Fairfax County Public Schools and her 8th year teaching here at Providence. She grew up on Long Island, NY. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Grove City College, and her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Technology focus from George Mason University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, traveling, reading, exercising, gardening, and playing with her German Shepherds, Kirra and Max.
parker Mrs. Kristine Parker, SpEd teacher, is starting her 12th year teaching at Providence. She has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Coastal Carolina University and a Masters in Special Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership, both from George Mason University. When she is not at Providence, she keeps busy with her daughter Kasey and two sons, Kyle and Kaleb. In her free time she enjoys playing outside with her dog Roxi, watching her kids play sports and hanging out with friends and family.
