Collaborative Sculpture at Ravensworth
Sixth graders at Ravensworth Elementary are learning the importance of working together. Visiting Artist Kevin Reese worked with students to bring their vision to life!
Book Your Summer is a program that builds a community of readers in FCPS. Book Your Summer will run from June 27 - September 7, 2016.
Similar to a Bingo game, rising 1st through 12th grade students are encouraged to spend the summer reading using the READ! activity card as a guide.
Students successfully participate if they achieve a “READ!” of their choice across the card in any direction.
Students need to read well to succeed. Your child’s teacher works on this in class each day here at Ravensworth. Have you been wondering what you can do at home to improve your children’s literacy skills and boost comprehension? We have subscribed to Reading Connection (Intermediate Edition) to help you with this. The monthly newsletter will provide you with tips and activities to support children’s reading, writing, and language development. Articles emphasize comprehension skills, vocabulary development, fluency, and more. Monthly issues will be posted on our school website between now and June. We hope you find these helpful as you work with your children at home.
See the Reading Connection button on the sidebar for the monthly newsletters.
